The AC supply and solar panel will basically be paralleled.
The AC will be a supply suitable to charge your battery type and power a load. A 10A 13.8V regulated supply will do most likely.
Solar might be 40W of panels (more if needed), and a charge controller.
If it were me, I would add a circuit that would give preference to solar charging of the battery.

Can you connect a 2, 6, 9 and 12V solar panel to a socket?
Basically, I wanted to make a "portable charger". I was planning to connect a solar panel to an English socket, and from there be able to plug any charger, a phone charger for example, and charge my phone from the solar energy.I have tried connecting the positive to the "live", and the negative to the "neutral". ( I was told the neutral was negative, and the live was the positive) Sadly, this did not work.
I would like to know, can it actually be possible to connect a small solar panel to a socket? If so, how?

you need to understand that house wiring is at 220 volts AC, and solar panels put out low voltage DC.It's difficult and expensive to convert low voltage DC to 220 volts AC. You are better off not trying, specially with your limited knowledge in this area.
Do NOT try to connect a solar panel's wires to an AC outlet, as you tried to do, you could kill yourself, or start a fire, or cause your panel to go up in smoke.

To fully charge a lead/acid battery, you would need a bit more than 12 Volt, usually 13.2 Volt.
Many Solar panels which are rated at nominal 12 Volt can deliver up to 14 Volt in direct sunshine, and at perfect angle to the sun.
So, the answer is, under ideal conditions, you can. Under less ideal conditions, the battery will not be charged to its fullest capacity.
