QUESTION:
How do you hook up solar panels with no apperant termination points, no soldering buttons, no nothing?
I bought 2 6vdc solar panels from a surplus supplier. I want to use them in series to maintain a trickle charge on a 12vdc battery to run 2- 12vdc/100cfm fans. The ad for the panels said they did not come with wires. I assumed they would have solder termination points that I could recognize but alas, they did not. I put a volt-ohm meter on serveral locations along the laminated pieces of the panel and achieved nominal, (under 7 tenths vdc readings and varying in polarity depending on location of probes). What gives, does anyone have any insight as to my next move? Or, as I am beginning to suspect, have I been had? Were these "new" panels rejects because the manufacturer forgot to provide termination points? The only identification I have as to their source is: Auto SunCharger on the fancy plastic snap together case. I have searched on line with the above info, with no success. HELP-
ANSWER:
The site I found in the UK is in the sources below. It appears the modules connect to Cell phones. You do not supply a model designator, but they show an SC-01, SC-02 and SC-03. On the site they show each one connected to a cell phone with a cable that plugs into a round connector. This can't be the product you have, but it may be the maker.
Maybe if you contact them, they can help you:

QUESTION:
Where can one buy solar panels in India? Which are the various producers/suppliers & the range of these panels
Any information of its use in lighting systems and possible amplification of the voltage etc would be helpful.-
ANSWER:
Hi,The following web site has suppliers for India:
http://www.alibaba.com/countrysearch/IN-suppliers/Solar_Panel.html
In the US, the electric utilities compensate individuals who connect up their panels to the electric grid through an inverter/controller. The compensation is generous and eliminates the need for battery packs which can be a very expensive part of the installation. If you cannot connect your power to the grid, then you will need to store the power. Most often this is through battery packs. You will need to purchase a controller to adjust output so the batteries can be charged at a higher voltage.
If you buy an inverter, you can convert the DC from batters to AC power, however, since your need is for lighting, I'd suggest that you use lights that are directly connected to your batteries. Your choice of voltage could be any standard, however, if the wiring is of any significant distances, you will want to choose a high voltage system to reduce the cost of wire.
For specifics, I'd ask your vendor to provide information specific to the panels that you purchase.

QUESTION:
bulk solar cell suppliers?
I was planning on making my own solar electric panels (Photovoltaic). is there any information on bulk solar cell suppliers?-
ANSWER:
It depends upon the application. Is this for a residence or for a larger project? If it's for a residence, then look at Northern Tool. They have great deals for home-owners, but this is not a bulk supplier. They would have enough for a decent array of PV panels.
If it's for a larger project, like a warehouse, factory, and/or industrial/commercial project, you'll need to contact a vendor. You can find all sorts of vendors here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_photovoltaics_companies
However, it should be noted that PV's are terribly inefficient. If at all possible, please look into Solar Thermal for any water heating needed in the project, or for Geothermal venting for any HVAC loads. Also, if your climate produces a good amount of wind, even a small residential wind turbine can produce orders of magnitude more electrical power than a PV.
