Consider the below points for planning a DIY Homemade Solar Panel:
1. A basic plan or method of constructing your solar panel. A more detailed and complete plan will tell you how to calculate the energy usage from your system and how big you need to build your system. It should also include instruction on maintenance and installation.
2. Look for plans that speak out every detail of the construction process. Are the plans in the form of texts only or are there any videos also included? Many people do very well when shown how to do something if they have trouble in understanding written instructions.
3. The author should offer a money back guarantee if you are not satisfied. QUESTION:
I'm setting up my homemade solar panels and I have a question series or parallel connection.?
I have my solar chips in series in each panel, but should I connect the panels in Parallel or also in series...?I have 10 panels, each producing around 18 volts, and intend to Connect them to 10 12v deep cell batteries.
Any help out there...?
-
ANSWER:
You certainly do not want to hook them up in series; that would add up the voltages from each panel so you would have for example 180 volts with ten panels! I would caution you against just hooking them directly across the batteries with no regulator or steering diodes in between, but you should get an answer from someone with more experience. I'm concerned as to what might happen when there is no output from the panels as during the night, when the batteries might put current into the panels. Good Luck! Jackson MSEE

QUESTION:
Selling homemade solar panels?
Me and my friend have made our own functional solar panels for considerably less than retail prices and we are thinking about selling them. Are there any legal issues regarding this? Would I need any special licenses or anything? Would using brand name components or parts in the panels make any difference legally? I want to know before I just go out and start doing it. Thanks!-
ANSWER:
you might first patent the design . Make sure everything is well documented . talk to patent agents and lawyers . Then instead of becoming a seller , introduce your design to established companies. They already have all the licences , lawyers, codes..etc to sell , install, advertise to buyers .they can often make you a partner or buy your design for a lump sum .
Solar is a huge step . Best wishes
