How Much Do Home Solar Panels Cost?
Have you ever asked why there's so much difference in the cost of home solar panels? The main reason is that solar panels can contain different numbers of solar cells.
However, 'cost' as it relates to solar panels is really two questions.
When people ask the question, "How much do home panels cost", they may actually be asking "How much does a solar panel cost"?
Or they might be asking "How much will it cost me for enough panels to power my home"?
The answer to the first question is pretty easy. The good news is that pre-built retail solar panel prices are coming down. Average wholesale prices today per single 80w - 100w solar panel range between 0 - 0 per panel.
However, you can do lots better.
Most people aren't aware that it's actually quite easy to build your own solar panels. You can build your own panels for less than half of what you'll pay wholesale - under 0 each!
Today's solar guides are becoming more popular and are extremely helpful if you want to build your own solar panels and install them yourself.

Anyone knows what's the forecast for the number of residential solar rooftops in the US today and in 5 years? How about globally?-
ANSWER:
I cannot answer exactly however CA has put in an initiative to hav 1 million solar roofs by 2012. Since they are the most progressive alt energy satte in the union the other states would probably not add up to much more than that as a whole.Wish the govt would bail me out of my energy bills and pay for a solar installation for my house.

QUESTION:
What are expected savings after install of residential solar pwr systems (Nass Cnty, NY)?
Interested in installing solar, not sure of expected saving/return and would like to validate utility's claims. Also, contractor contacts would be helpful.-
ANSWER:
Right now, its not cost effective. As products improve, become more widely available, and cheaper, it will be very realistic. Also, I think that major tax incentives will someday be implemented to help people cope with the ivestment. You're on the right track, but as a customer you're a bit ahead of your time.
